U.S. auto sales plunge 21%, triggering talk of more stimulus
Plunging sales led auto industry executives to start talking about a need for additional stimulus, but most doubt a measure to help automakers would get through Congress before the November midterm election. Auto sales across the U.S. fell 21% in August compared with the same month last year.
